RSE was recently recognized by MDOT for the design of the I-96 Interchange at Latson Road in Livingston County. This project was one of the first in Michigan to use various innovative solutions that helped to deliver the project in a shorter timeframe while saving money. Learn more……
Benton Harbor, MIRS Engineering, LLC was the prime design consultant for the Michigan Department of Transportation on this project. The bridge was in need of a deck replacement and other repairs to distressed areas. This bridge reconstruction was chosen as a pilot project by MDOT for the use of Micro-Composite Multi-Structural Formable (MMFX) reinforcing steel in the new bridge deck, bridge barriers, and bridge backwalls. M-63 runs through Harbor Shores, an estimated $500 million resort and luxury home development. This project not only needed to address the bridge structural improvements, but also had to incorporate a multiuse golf cart/pedestrian path under each side of the bridge and various aesthetic treatments resulting from the context sensitive design process.
