RSE was recently recognized by MDOT for the design of the I-96 Interchange at Latson Road in Livingston County. This project was one of the first in Michigan to use various innovative solutions that helped to deliver the project in a shorter timeframe while saving money. Learn more……

M-63 Bridge over Higman Park Road

Benton Harbor, MI
RS Engineering, LLC was the prime design consultant for the Michigan Department of Transportation on this project. The bridge was in need of a deck replacement and other repairs to distressed areas. This bridge reconstruction was chosen as a pilot project by MDOT for the use of Micro-Composite Multi-Structural Formable (MMFX) reinforcing steel in the new bridge deck, bridge barriers, and bridge backwalls. M-63 runs through Harbor Shores, an estimated $500 million resort and luxury home development. This project not only needed to address the bridge structural improvements, but also had to incorporate a multiuse golf cart/pedestrian path under each side of the bridge and various aesthetic treatments resulting from the context sensitive design process.


I-94BL in Ann Arbor

Ann Arbor, MI
This construction project included 2.37 miles of hot mix asphalt (HMA), cold milling and resurfacing, concrete curb, gutter, sidewalk and ADA compliant sidewalk ramps, intersection widening, drainage, guardrail, traffic signals and pavement markings on the I-94BL from the EB off-ramp east to Main Street in the city of Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County. Construction engineering oversight services are as follows: Inspection of roadway rehabilitation and reconstruction including cold-milling operations and HMA PWL sampling and inspection. RSE also performed inspection and testing on all concrete items.


I-94 & US-12 Freeway Signing

Washtenaw County, MI
This design project included the upgrade of nearly 36 miles of freeway signing. This corridor included several overhead signs mounted on cantilevers, trusses and bridges. This includes preparing computerized alignment base sheets, field verification of existing signs, utility coordination, guardrail design development of proposed signing plans and details, construction cost estimates, and completing a sign inventory and MTSIS for use by MDOT. This project also included concrete barrier replacement in areas of new or replaced median truss foundations. The project included maintaining traffic details appropriate for the median barrier work.

I-96 Interchange at 112th Avenue

Ottawa County, MI
This project included 1.531 miles of interchange construction and realignment, including two new ramps, realigning two existing ramps, replacement and widening of 112th Avenue structure, new weave/merge lane and ramp extension from M-104 to 112th Avenue, removal of two existing railroad structures embankment & pavement reconstruction, removal of existing I-96 ramps at Cleveland Street, maintaining traffic, permanent pavement marking and signing, utility coordination, traffic analysis and traffic signals.
